Windows NT Networking

Situation:

Microsoft was developing the Windows NT Server operating system, a stable, reliable networked OS for businesses.

Hindrance:

Windows NT needed to interoperate across networks with a wide variety of other networked operating systems, including but not limited to Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, Microsoft’s LAN Manager, and Novell Netware.

Action:

I performed feature, integration, and network interoperability testing of the Windows NT networking features against other Windows NT systems as well as Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, LAN Manager, and Netware, troubleshooting problems to determine whether they were network issues or bugs in the software, and documenting errors and communicating them to the developers.

Results:

My efforts greatly contributed to shipping Microsoft Windows NT version 3.5, both Workstation and Server.

Competencies:

This experience shows my ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems, determine solutions, and communicate them to developers.
